Tobin Rodman

I am a figurative oil painter and I will be showing at the 20th street Gallery. The Second Saturday opens the show on the 12th of September.

The aim of my current work can be distilled in this way: My figures are meant to be viewed as individual people, imbued with personality and an emotive quality. My hope is that the people represented in my work will be viewed as individuals whom themselves are objects d’art, not as generic representations of ideals. The current viewpoint taken in my work is in examining the unconsciousness of beauty; … a moment in time when one is doing and thinking and is unaware of the beauty that they are a part of.
