The Center for Contemporary Art, Sacramento presents its 2010 Capital Artists Studio Tour on the weekend of September 11th and 12th, 2010. This annual event features close to 100 working Sacramento artists, giving visitors first-hand knowledge about the Sacramento art scene.

The Harlem Renaissance was a cultural movement that spanned the 1920s and 1930s. It grew out of the changes that had taken place in the African American community since the abolition of slavery. Characterizing the Harlem Renaissance was an overt racial pride that came to be represented in the idea
of the New Negro, who through intellect and production of literature, art, and music could challenge the pervading racism and stereotypes to promote progressive or socialist politics, and racial and social integration. Clare Bailey, Owner of Gallery 2110 is pleased to announce the “Waltzing the Dog” exhibit. She teamed up with several local galleries in Midtown Sacramento, California to host an event to benefit the Homeward Bound organization. Homeward Bound is a Golden Retriever rescue group. On, Saturday, October 9, 2010, InAlliance will host the 2nd Annual Gold Rush Fun Run & Walk on the El Dorado Trail in Placerville to benefit programs for people with developmental disabilities, and WE NEED YOU TO PARTICIPATE!

The event is geared for people of all ages and skill levels and features a 10 Mile Run, 10K Run, 5K Run/Walk and 1 Mile Stroll. Registration is now open and space is limited. Read more »
